Boy-Girl Relationships
Rationale
Interest in the opposite sex is a natural and Scripturally recognized phenomenon. This interest may result in an individual selecting the husband or wife whom the Lord has prepared. In our current culture, the physical aspects of relationships are emphasized almost exclusively and almost no reference is made to the spiritual aspect of finding one's mate. Consequently, our culture is ridden with adultery, divorce, and broken homes as most marriages do not have a Godly, spiritual foundation. Lasting commitments must incorporate an appreciation for a spiritual foundation, as well as physical attraction.
Policy
Relationships with the opposite sex are permitted among the students at American Christian Academy as long as the physical nature of the relationships is not obviously emphasized. Hugging, kissing, sitting in each others' lap, etc., are obvious displays of physical attention and are unacceptable in public. Sexual activity before marriage is forbidden. Any evidence suggesting that a relationship has proceeded to this level will serve as the basis for expulsion. Students who marry during the school term or during the summer months should talk with the Headmaster and request transfer to another school.
Prom Policies
Prom is an exciting event at ACA providing memories for a lifetime. Prom is held each spring and is an all day event which has an out of town location. Prom is a reward and not an entitlement.. A students who choose to participate in prom must abide by all the rules as given in pre-prom instruction packet. Students who can not follow all instructions are asked not to attend the prom.
