Headmaster's Welcome

Dear Students and Family of ACA, The 2011-2012 school year promises to one of our best yet. Our teachers are excited about bringing in new electives. our athletic teams are poised for a run at championships in several areas. Our academic progress is evident in the success of our graduates at major colleges around the country. As we continue to grow we add quality new families to our already distinguished group. It just looks like a great year.

Let me encourage each of you to set goals at the beginning of the year. Think about things you would like to accomplish. Write them down in this agenda. Then at the end of the year see how you have done. When you write things down you have a better chance of remembering them and accomplishing those goals. Our more accomplished academic students over the years are proof that this works. They wrote down homework assignments, upcoming athletic events, reminders of things to do, and even reminders to make phone calls or run errands. Those students went on to accomplish much more than those who tried to remember things just relying on their memories alone.

Also let me encourage you to try and reach out and make some new acquaintances this year. You live will be enriched as you develop new skills in the relational arena. You never know what you may accomplish just by trying. Read something this year that stretches your imagination. Everything worthwhile takes extra effort. Finally I want you to realize I am here to help you succeed. My door is always open. Come and talk to me about issues of concern to you. I look forward to spending time with you on field trips and just seeing you in the hallways. The world really is our classroom.
