Karen was saved as a young girl but rededicated her life to Christ as a teenager. She has been blessed with the opportunity to study and practice art from a very young age. As a young girl Karen was always drawing and painting, as well as performing in local plays. Then as a teenager Karen was fortunate enough to attend Alabama School of Fine Arts for high school. Karen then went on to the University of Alabama to study visual arts and has a degree in Art Education. She is married to Patrick Kennedy and has two children, Caleb and Bella Grace who attend ACA. Karen and her family are active members of Tannehill Valley Baptist Church in McCalla.

As an Art teacher Karen feels blessed to be able to share her passion for art and hopes to develop an enthusiasm in art for children of all ages. Karen enjoys being with family and friends, but in her “spare” time she enjoys drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, and reading.

Karen has many favorite Bible verses but one she refers to often is “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11-12
