Shirley Renfroe
6th Grade

/files/Staff Folder/staff 08-09/Staff photos 2012-2013/Renfroe resized.jpgI am beginning my 27th year at ACA. God gave me the gift of teaching, so I am most fulfilled doing just that.  I was born in Chicago, Illinois.   I am a 1986 graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS in Elementary Education.
My husband, Jimmy is my best friend and in October, we will celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. We have been blessed with three beautiful, talented daughters with hearts that love God. They are all graduates of ACA.

Shelly: preschool teacher at ACA, coaches middle school volleyball at ACA, and has two amazing sons that attend ACA
Hunter will be in the 4th grade and Noah will be in 1st grade.  Her husband Wally is pretty close to perfect.

Robin:  beginning her 5th year teaching seventh and eighth grade history and is ACA's head volleyball coach.

Brittnay: beginning her 3rd year at Faulkner University in Montgomery.

I am happy that that I teach  American History and Bible. I am obsessed with Abraham Lincoln and I sing to my students, even though that is not my gift ....but I sing anyway because it helps them learn.

Other than teaching, some of my favorite things to do are:

- Spending time with my husband
-Laugh with my family (or anybody for that matter)
-Read to my grandsons
-Read to myself (sometimes aloud, but most of the time silently)
-Watch Food Network and Fox News
-Cook  (when I'm not rushed, which is only in the summer time)
-Go to Church of the Highlands
-Go to Starbucks with my friends                                                                                                          -Loving on my precious handicapped dog, Otis
-  Exercise (Not really one of my favorites, but I do it so I can enjoy
my favorites)

More of my favorites:  Authors- John Eldridge, Max Lucado, Francine
Rivers, Brock and Bodie Thoene, and CS Lewis.
Book- "The Shack."
Movie-"It's a Wonderful Life."
Bible Verse-Romans 5:5

I am thankful for God's favor and His abundant blessings in my life.
