History of American Christian Academy

American Christian Academy was founded in 1979. Through the years we have tirelessly and sacrificially progressed to become the school we are now. We moved to 701 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Northport in 1989 with an enrollment of 110 students. On Dec. 20, 2002 American Christian Academy moved into the former Eastwood Middle School on  Veterans Memorial Parkway. It took the investment of the hearts and hands of hundreds of parents, students, and other volunteers to accomplish this grand task.

The impact of a new location for ACA will touch the lives of students for years to come. The enlarged classrooms and extra space changed the atmosphere in the school. We are so thankful for the families who have, over the years, helped to make us who we are. Since being in this location we have added beautiful baseball and softball fields and we were able to install artificial turf to our football field. More recently we have renovated and updated all student bathrooms, retiled the cafeteria and hallways, and paved the parking lots.   It is our desire to add a high school classroom building which will house state of the art science labs in the near future.

We have been fully accredited by AdvancEd (formerly SACS/CASI) since 1990. Our most recent review was the 2014-2015 school year. We are a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and the Alabama High School Athletic Association.  A milestone was reached in the 2014-2015 year as we passed the 1,000 student body marker.

Please be in prayer with us as we work together to provide an education for hundreds of students God sends us each year. It is our desire that this place, American Christian Academy, be a place that will glorify God.
