American Christian Academy
Dear ACA Parents,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer and finding meaningful time to rest, recharge, and make memories with your families.
As we prepare for another exciting school year at ACA, we want to share an important update regarding student textbooks and curriculum materials for the upcoming year.
After working closely with our textbook companies and reviewing the updated curriculum requirements across our grade levels, we learned that many of the books used in our classrooms will be moving to new editions. Because of this, and in an effort to best support both our families and our students, ACA will be purchasing and distributing all required textbooks directly to students this year.
We believe this is the best and most effective method for our school families. It ensures that every student begins the year with the correct, current materials needed for academic success and continued growth. It also allows us to maintain strong vertical alignment in our curriculum from K3 through 12th grade, helping each grade level build intentionally and consistently upon the foundation laid in the years before.
Because of these updates, we want to make families aware of the following changes to our textbook process:
All students will receive brand-new textbooks for their scheduled classes.
ACA will not hold a summer book sale this year. You will not have to come to the school and wait for books.
Families will no longer need to search for or purchase books independently from outside sources such as Amazon, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, other families, or online sellers.
Previously used books, including books from siblings or past students, may not match the updated editions being used in class and therefore should not be reused.
The cost of all required textbooks for each student’s scheduled courses will be billed through your FACTS account prior to the start of the school year.
We understand this is a change from our previous process, and we recognize that change can require adjustment. However, our desire is to make this process simpler and more reliable for our families while also protecting the academic experience of every student. This will help prevent confusion over editions, eliminate the burden of searching for books during the summer, and ensure that every child is prepared with the correct materials from the very first day of class.
For families who may still have used textbooks at home, there are several online companies and marketplaces where books may be sold independently if desired.
Textbooks will be distributed directly to students in their classrooms during the first week of school. Our hope is that this will make the start of the year as smooth, organized, and stress-free as possible for both students and parents.
We are grateful for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support as we make this transition. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue working to provide a strong, intentional, and well-aligned academic program for every ACA student, from K3 through 12th grade.
We look forward to another wonderful year together.
