Daycare Information

AMERICAN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY AFTER SCHOOL CARE

We provide early morning care beginning at 7am-7:30 and afternoon care from 3:30-5:30. Early morning drop-off is in the cafeteria where a daycare worker will supervise your child until 7:30 when his/her teacher arrives. There will be a staff member waiting at the door to take your child’s temperature and make sure they use hand sanitizer when entering the cafeteria. You can bring breakfast from home or purchase items from the lunchroom. The after school care begins at 3:15 in the cafeteria for grades 2nd-5th. Only 2nd-5th graders will come to the cafeteria in the afternoon for day care to eat snack. You can pack them one or they can purchase one from the lunchroom. Parents of 2-5th please make note that on Fridays your child can purchase an ice cream item but must have $2 cash in order to purchase because the lunchroom will not be open. They will not have the option on Fridays to charge on their lunch account. If your child is in k4-1st they eat their afternoon snack with their teacher. Your Child's teacher will provide information on what snacks are appropriate and what time they will have snack. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PACK YOUR CHILD PLENTY OF DRINKS! I SUGGEST A REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE

K4-1st is picked up from their classrooms at 3:30 for after school care. Students attending after school care are picked at 3:30 from their classroom and signed in. Once you arrive to pick up your child from after school care it is best to park in the front of the school and enter at the front doors where the gym is located. In the foyer outside the front office above the watering station you will find a dry erase board that will list each grade and where they are located. Please communicate to your Child's teacher whether they are coming to daycare or not because if the teacher doesn’t know to send your child then at 3:30 when your child is not picked up the teacher will automatically send them to day care.

If your child is not picked up by 3:30 his/her teacher will send them to daycare and you will be charged whether your child is in daycare for 5 minutes or till 5:30. The costs of these services are $5 a day, for both am and pm daycare, if your child needs both its still only $5 a day charge. If your child is not picked up by 5:30 a late fee will be applied at the rate of $6 at 5:31 and a $1 a minute following. I know the first week will seem overwhelming but I assure you my staff and I are well-adjusted to the current situation. We started summer camp on June 1st with over a hundred campers registered. The summer went great! We went on field trips, had water slides and an ice cream truck every Friday afternoon. The kids were excited to start back and so were we. The cleaning regime that was put into place along with scheduled hand washing and hand sanitizing has provided us with a healthy summer. I intend to continue all of these practices for after school care. I would like to go ahead and let parents know that I will not be enforcing social distancing due to the age of the kids that will be attending. I will also not be enforcing face masks due to the physical activity that is incorporated in the afternoon. Every age group will be going outside for 20-30 minutes in after care unless bad weather prohibits us.

Below you will find a schedule of when each age group is on the playground and what classrooms each age group will be in for center time. Grades 2nd-5th will have a study hall for 30 minutes to read or work on any homework they have. This is a great opportunity for them to get most or all of their work finished. Please make sure they have paper and a pencil in their backpack for study hall. We will not be passing out pencils due to the handling of them.

They do not have a study hall on Friday afternoons. If you feel uncomfortable with these procedures please make sure your Child is picked up from school by 3:30. I will need the attached registration form back before your child can attend after school care. I will need you to sign and date it which provides verification that you were notified of our procedures. Please email me back the signed registration form in order for your child to attend. After school care is available beginning the first day of school. Thank you so much for your patience and support through all of this.
